How to Freeze Vegetables

This may seem simple, but when I figured this hack out, and now have organic celery on hand at all times, I had to share! Anything that makes life a little easier, and I hope it helps you too 🙂

Celery is one more thing I don’t need to continually buy it at the grocery store.

So when you buy your celery, buy in bulk, especially if you see a good deal.

Since celery is on the list of most sprayed produce, I go for organic. I’ve noticed some organic produce does not last as long, so here is my hack for freezing celery so they don’t clump.

The trick is flash freezing. This will ensure they do not clump together.

How to Freeze Vegetables Without Clumping

  • Thoroughly wash and take apart each stock.
  • Chop your celery.
  • Lay them in a single layer on a cookie sheet and put them in the freezer for about 20 minutes. This is called flash freezing.
  • Once they are partially frozen, stick them in a freezer bag.
  • Pull them out as needed for soups and stews and other recipes.

You can do this with so many other vegetables and fruits. Some of my favorites to flash freeze are peppers and berries, which is so convenient to pull out to make berry toppings like this one or smoothies.
