easy French dip sandwich

If you haven’t experienced a French dip sandwich, you are missing out! This is one of those recipes that comes together quickly and every single one of us has on our top five favorite meals. When you are tired of the same old pot roast, use this recipe for a happy crowd 🙂

Although this meal comes together quickly, your family and friends will think you slaved in the kitchen all day! 🙂

French Dip Sandwiches

Ingredients
  

  • 3-4 pounds beef roast
  • 1 packet onion soup mix
  • 15 ounce of beef broth
  • ½ cup water

Other Ingredients

  • 6 slices mozzarella or provolone cheese for serving
  • 6 sub rolls for serving

Instructions
 

  • In a hot pan with a little oil, brown both sides of steak.
  • Poor on top onion soup mix, beef broth and water, stir until combined.
  • Preheat oven to 300° and cover and cook for about 3 hours (for a 4 pound roast).
  • An hour before serving, shred meat with two forks
  • Place meat back in the oven for about 1 more hour.
  • When ready to serve, toast 6 sub rolls (I like to use the toaster, but you can use the broil oven setting).
  • Layer your toasted buns with shredded beef then cheese.
  • Broil until cheese is melted.
  • Serve sandwich with a bit of juice from the pot for dipping! You may want to strain the sauce before serving.
