In a hot pan with a little oil, brown both sides of steak.
Poor on top onion soup mix, beef broth and water, stir until combined.
Preheat oven to 300° and cover and cook for about 3 hours (for a 4 pound roast).
An hour before serving, shred meat with two forks
Place meat back in the oven for about 1 more hour.
When ready to serve, toast 6 sub rolls (I like to use the toaster, but you can use the broil oven setting).
Layer your toasted buns with shredded beef then cheese.
Broil until cheese is melted.
Serve sandwich with a bit of juice from the pot for dipping! You may want to strain the sauce before serving.
