Drain and rinse kefir grains and add 1 cup of the grains to half-gallon jar.
Boil one cup of water in medium-sized pot. Take pot off burner.
Add sugar and stir until dissolved.
Add molasses and stir until dissolved.
Add rest of the water (cold).
Transfer to half-gallon jar (on top of the kefir grains)
Let sit at room temperature for 24 hours with fermenting lid on.
